Hearing Protection

Hearing loss is often thought of as an inevitable part of life, especially with one in eight Americans experiencing it in at least one ear. While some degree of hearing loss is common, it can often be prevented by wearing ear protection. At Advanced Hearing Services, we provide custom-made hearing protection, including:

  • Earmolds
  • Earplugs
  • Monitors for musicians

 Earmolds and earplugs

Whether it’s for work or play, our office offers the ear protection you need to care for your hearing. These types of hearing protection are suitable for a variety of activities and will be custom to your specific needs. Our options include:

  • Musicians
  • Swimmers
  • Surfers
  • Pilots
  • Manufacturing or construction workers
  • Hunters
  • People who have difficulty sleeping
  • Concert goers
  • Medical professionals
  • Racecar drivers
  • Motorcycle drivers

Custom earmolds

Custom earmolds are created to fit inside the contour of your ear, providing a secure fit. Because they fill the entire ear, earmolds provide the most efficient protection against hazardous noise (sound above 85 decibels). Earmolds can be made in full-shell or half-shell size. Individuals who are in environments with high levels of noise exposure should consider full-shell earmolds.

Custom earplugs

Custom earplugs are molded to fit the contours of the inner ear. Custom earplugs provide a tighter fit than over-the-counter earplugs and are made of materials that can be cleaned. These are ideal for individuals that regularly use earplugs and find themselves constantly throwing out the disposable varieties. Not only do they offer a more comfortable fit, they are more secure and provide more effective protection when immersed in sound.

Solutions for musicians

Advanced Hearing Services provides monitors and earmolds plus filtered attenuators for musicians. A monitor blocks out external noise and delivers a monitor mix directly to the musician’s ears, protecting them from the damaging decibels of rocking out. Another solution is to fit a custom-made earmold with a fitted attenuator, which allows musicians to hear them mix directly.

If you aren’t sure which form of hearing protection is right for you, schedule an appointment with our hearing instrument specialist at Advanced Hearing Services. We will work with you to find the kind of protection that meets all your needs, from lifestyle to budget.
